This is how it works. Whoever started this meme left five "clues," which were passed onto me via multiple flisters (I don't care if it's DW, they're still flisters). I've responded, below the cut, with the five fics that meet the criteria of the clues. You can do so too, should you wish, and/or leave a clue for me. The clues can be anything from "Your favorite fic" to "Fic in which the most characters died" to "A fic that includes both a threesome and a wrench."

1. Your fic with the closest word count to 1,662 words.
2. Your fic in the rarest fandom you write in.
3. The longest fic you've ever written.
4. The fic that's title starts with the last letter of your user name.
5. Fic written for your favorite prompt you've ever gotten.3

And, for fun, the "alternate clues" mentioned in the meme.

The breakdown of my fic output by genre, as categorized at the AoOO:

cut for images )

Apparently Google doesn't think the >1% of my output which is m/m (1.0852%, actually) is significant enough to display in the second graph.

It strikes me that looking at the percentage in terms of fics is kinda silly. Looking at the number of words I've written in each genre would be much more useful. But also more labor intensive.

Comment with the name of a female character and I'll tell you why I love her. In return, you can do the same in your journal. As always, "character" includes both RPF and FPF characters.

Return of the alphabet-fic meme! I have fics for every letter 'cept for K, X, and Z, which is two more letters filled than last time I did the meme. How I managed to write fic for six years and still never use a title beginning with K, I do not claim to know.

A is for The Art of the Possible (VMars, Veronica/Logan)
B is for Bullshit (RPF, Michelle/Summer)
C is for Camp Camelot (Merlin, OT4)
D is for Divine Interventions (BtVS, Ensemble)
E is for Experience (RPF/Firefly, Jane Espenson/Kaylee)
F is for Fairest of Them All (Firefly/AtS, Lilah/River)
G is for Glories Stream (Dar Williams)
H is for The Hurricane (The 4400, Maia & Kevin/Tess)
I is for In Soviet Russia, Femslash Writes You (RPF, Kristen/Hayden)
J is for Just Skin (BtVS, Amanda/Vi, Faith/Dawn)
K is for ---
L is for Last Day on Earth (Ender's Game, Val & Peter)
M is for My Girlfriend Is a Telepath (XMM, Kitty/Mindee)
N is for Not Quite Queen of the Damned (BtVS/VMars, Ensemble)
O is for On Her Knees (BtVS/AtS, Lilah/Wesley)
P is for Please Have Snow and Mistletoe (BtVS, Dawn/Vi)
Q is for Quartet for Two Voices (BtVS, Giles/Kennedy)
R is for Richard III, Act Two, Scene Three, Line Sixteen (Ender's Game, Val & Peter)

Y is for You Just Can't Choose What She's Gonna Do (BtVS/Ats, Faith/Connor/Spike)
Z is for ---

Here's the poll, inspired by the "She's-not-straight-they-just-love-each-other" Giles/Kennedy fic I may or may not be working on (when I should be working on one of my five fest fics, but that's another story):

Poll #1893 Kennedy's Heterosexual Experience
Open to: Registered Users, detailed results viewable to: All, participants: 10

Prior to her introduction in "," had Kennedy ever had sex with a man?

View Answers

No; she's known she was gay since she was a little child, so why would she?
5 (50.0%)

Yes; given the cultural context, it's likely she's had some heterosexual sexual experience, even if she didn't particularly want it.
2 (20.0%)

It depends on your definition of "sex"; she's likely had some heterosexual sexual experience, but not intercourse.
3 (30.0%)

Ticky box!

Ticky box is a Kinsey six.
3 (33.3%)

Ticky box.
1 (11.1%)

Ticky box transcends labels and categories.
0 (0.0%)

Ticky box transcends labels and categories in theory, but in practice fits into radio buttons fairly easily.
3 (33.3%)

Ticky box is bisexual.
1 (11.1%)

Ticky box would totally go gay for Alyson Hannigan.

And here's a meme, gacked from my flist:

I'm getting a little frustrated working on fics nobody's going to see until late December, so leave a character and a short prompt in a comment and the first five or so will get ficlets. One character per request please; I'm also in the middle of working on a Peter/Val pornapalooza and I'm not sure I'm up to doing pairing fic on demand.

Fandoms: Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, new Doctor Who, Dollhouse, Firefly, the 4400, Sarah Connor Chronicles, Sarah Jane Adventures, Stargate SG-1, Torchwood, Veronica Mars, and others

Ask me either a broad [writing-related] question (i.e 'who is your cruelest character?', 'what is your most optimistic story?') or a specific question/request ('what world does ___ come from?', 'tell me about ___') and I will answer you. Or you can ask meta- questions like 'what was the inspiration for creating ____?'

Pretty much ask me anything about my fic and I'll ramble at you a bit.
alixtii: Writercon icon '09 "There's nothing to writing / you just sit down an open a vein." (writing)
Gakked from [ profile] wisdomeagle, here ("I'm sure all of fandom has heard of this by now. Post the first lines from some of/20 of/50 of/all of your fic. Your flist writes drabbles for you.") and here ("So. Here they are. Sixty-odd first lines of fanfic. [. . .] Do as you like with these: put them in drabbles, put them in ficlets, put them in novels. Change the names, leave the names, edit them, what have you. Post the drabbles here, there, everywhere. Guess where they came from. Marvel at their inanity. Ignore them. Up to you.").

So under the cut we have almost 150 first lines, in alphabetical order.

Take any fic I have ever written, link me to it, and ask "What if you had changed this moment?" I'll either explain, or maybe even write the "what if?"

2. Explain in five sentences why you're using that wallpaper!
3. Don't change your wallpaper before doing this! The point is to see what you had on!

Gakked from [personal profile] anonymous_sibyl: Name your 15 absolutely favorite couples (het/slash/canon/fanon) and ask people to see what trends they notice about your couples. Try to pick different fandoms.

Now, this list of 15 is incredibly dependent on my mood at the moment and is shaped by certain agendas I might not hold at a different moment (trying not to make the list too obscure, trying to make it obscure enough, etc.) as well as what I happened to think of this morning while brainstorming. A different day would have yielded a different list. It's less a list of my 15 favorite pairings of all time (although certainly at least a couple of pairings on this list would make it onto that one) than it is an intuitively-put-together representative sampling of what right now I feel to be my 'shipping zeitgeist, without trying to too deliberately weight the list to ensure certain results.  (I mean, I could come up with 15 'cest pairings I ship, easily. But I didn't. I mean, Cuckoocest isn't even on this list.) And it's not representative of what I actually read or write, either--note just how much of this list is het rather than femslash.

1. Mal Reynolds/Kaylee Frye, Firefly/Serenity
2. Spike/Drusilla, Buffy/Angel
3. Tess Doerner/Kevin Burkhoff, The 4400
4. Annie James/Hallie Parker, The Parent Trap
5. John Connor/Cameron Philips, The Sarah Connor Chronicles
6. Peter Wiggins/Valentine Wiggin, Ender's Game
7. Cindy Mackenzie/Madison Sinclair, Veronica Mars
8. Kitty Pryde/Emma Frost, Astonishing X-Men
9. Sooraya Qadir/Laura Kinney, New X-Men
10. Joss Whedon/Summer Glau, RPF
11. Lapus Lazuli Long/Lorelei Lee Long, RAH's World-as-Myth
12. Kara Zor-El/Barbara Gordon, DC Comics
13. Kitty Pryde/Peter Parker, Ultimate X-Men
14. John Connor/Savannah Weaver, The Sarah Connor Chronicles
15. Seven of Nine/the EMH, Star Trek: Voyager

So, what trends do you notice about my couples?
alixtii: Kitty and Emma un/dressing. From AXM, "Gifted." (femslash)
So there's been this version of "Cliff, Shag, Marry" going around with surprisingly complicated rules:

1. Comment and I will give you the names of 3 fictional characters or celebrities.
2. Post this meme with your answers.
3. Provide pictures and the names of the three people.
4. Label which you would marry, shag, or cliff.

I got three lists of names, one list each from [ profile] maechi, [ profile] kindkit, and [ profile] netgirl_y2k.

ROUND ONE: Summer Glau, Dawn Summers, and Joss Whedon )

ROUND TWO: Emma Frost, Buffy Summers, Hermione Granger )

ROUND THREE: Dawn Summers, River Tam, Lucy Saxon  )

Comment if you want me to do you. Alternately, if you just want to play regular Cliff/Shag/Marry, leave the names of three characters.

I saw this meme making the rounds again, this time at [ profile] cereta's:

You post a topic, list, category, whatever, in my comments section. (examples: "Five Things Cindy Mackenzie Doesn't Envy about the Sinclairs" or "Five Things Valentine Wiggin Isn't Very Good At" or "Five Things Dawn Will Never Tell Kennedy" or "Five Things Amanda Never Got to Do Before She Died"). Then, in a separate post, I'll post the answers to your Top 5 ideas, according to me. Serious or fun!

[ profile] cereta restricted it to female characters only, in honor of [ profile] halfamoon, but given the nature of this journal, I don't really see the need to do that here. Although by the same token, given the nature of this journal, if all the requests are about male characters, the owner of said journal will--well, let's just say he'll be less than pleased, y'know?
alixtii: Mary Magdalene washing the face of Jesus of Nazareth, from the film production of Jesus Christ Superstar. (religion)

There's six pairings that Ari wasn't able to (or at least hasn't yet) guess in last week's meme. They're from two book fandoms, a comics fandom, a TV fandom, a theatre fandom, and a movie fandom, although I can think of at least one pairing which arguably fits into more than one of those categories. New parts of clues are underlined; the parts of the old clues I took out to still make 15 words are in strikethrough. Two are 0T3's/rival OTP's (e.g., Wesley/Fred/Lilah).

3. Sentences flow together and genome shared, as do selves in bodies stripped bare to red-headed clones travel  through infinite times, possibilities. Hook shop? Got myth?> [Robert A. Heinlein's World-as-Myth -- Lapus Lazuli Long/Lorelai Lee Long -- guessed by [ profile] wisdomeagle]

5. Complements, conqueror and nurturer Talk about smart kids: all the world, save one brother, falls at their feet, via computer. [Ender's Game -- Peter/Valentine -- guessed by [ profile] seriousfic]

10. A madwoman, irresistible; and her caretaker, now awake: the future which manipulates them underestimates their love. [The 4400 -- Tess/Kevin -- guessed by [ profile] wisdomeagle]

12. New canon (boo! invented in his mind) wrecks old OTP, gives new one. No need for Ursine ingestion? No thanks, though. [X-Men Movieverse -- Bobby/Rogue/Kitty -- guessed by [ profile] wisdomeagle]

13. Cooler than Tryst with cat no rival for red-haired true love beauty--'til David's star arrives in school Queens? [Ultimate Marvel -- Peter/MJ/Kitty -- guessed by [ profile] wisdomeagle]

14. Age Epoch too young for chaos theory, girl pupil too young to dance waltz; her absence breeds madness.

[Arcadia -- Thomasina/Septimus -- guessed (with major clue-giving from me) by [ profile] wisdomeagle]

Give me a character from any fandom you know I am into and I will tell you:
a. My favorite thing about that character.
b. My least favorite thing about that character.
c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.
d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.
