What'd we want would be some sort of standard deviation, I think, but I'm not a math person either, and I'm skeptical today whether we'd find anything significant. The average femslash pairing had 1.66 fics written for it; the average maleslash pairing had 1.76 fics written for it. Not a very huge difference.
