"As an artist, you want to be understood. Means you made good story. But when people find connections and throughlines that you weren't even aware of (not the crazy That's-how-I-know-this-arc-is -an-indictment-of-Catholic-Hippopotami kind, but true moments hidden from the creators themselves), that's even better. Means Art." -- Joss Whedon
"What may or may not have happened is entirely up to the viewer, that's what makes it art. Having said that, I know EXACTLY what happened and it's funny that I'm never going to tell anyone. But did no one see the obvious smoldering passion between the Blue Hand guys? MAN, did you guys miss the boat.
"In my world, heroes bugger each other senseless. Not all of them, but more than you'd think, and probably not who you're thinking." -- Joss Whedon
Who is Alixtii?
Episkopos Reverend Alixtii O'Krul V, T.R.L. (for "Three Random Letters," which they are not) can be found as alixtii at Dreamwidth, with backup journals at LiveJournal (
alixtii), JournalFen (
alixtii), and InsaneJournal (
alixtii). He is also Alixtii at FanFiction.Net.
He was a lurker in the Star Trek: Voyager fandom in the mid 1990's, when he wrote several pieces of drawerfic in that fandom. While one was accepted to The Starfleet Journal, none of the fanfic of that period would appear on the internet until almost a decade later, when they were finally posted to FanFiction.Net as abandoned WIP's. Eventually Alixtii abandoned writing fanfiction, choosing to focus on original fiction intead.
Reverend O'Krul was ordained by the Universal Life Church in 2001 and founded the Church of St. Jesu the Heretic, Discordian shortly thereafter.
In January of 2004, he re-entered fandom when he found himself unable to not start work on a Buffy the Vampire Slayer WIP, which he posted to FanFiction.Net. Hundreds of fanfics soon followed in the subsequent years, mostly in Buffy but eventually extending also to Firefly, Veronica Mars, RPF (particularly Jossverse RPF), X-Men (including X-Men Movieverse), and many other fandoms.
While starting out solely reading and writing fic at FanFiction.Net and engaging in meta and discussion at the City of Angel discussion boards, Alixtii quickly followed several of his favorite authors to LiveJournal, where he would read their journals and friends lists, reading fic and engaging in meta discussion using "anonymous" comments signed with a simple "Alixtii." In April 2005, Alixtii created his own journal.
While Alixtii started out writing mostly-gen plotty stories with both canon and unconventional relationships, the convergence of his move to LiveJournal with the creation of femslash_minis by Cadence Kay resulted both in him producing a fic output which was predominately femslash and in his integration into the Jossverse femslash fan community. While he has written all genres of fanfiction, including het and m/m, he now identifies primarily as a femslasher.
In addition to fanfic, Alixtii is a general producer of fannish-feminist meta, following metafandom and occasionally linked to by it, and remembers fondly several of the great wanks and imbroglios of the first decade of the third millenium of the common era.
Alixtii is also the maintainer of the Mal/Kaylee LJ community, iluvmycaptain.
Beta Policy: Always in the market for a beta. The more the merrier. If you want me to beta, ask and I'll tell you yes or no, depending on any of an entire manifold of potential factors.
Ficathon Policy: If you've gotten a request of mine in a ficathon, turn around now (or not, feel free and read whatever you like, but the following still applies). It's not your job to make a fic that I'll like. It's your job to be true to your muse and make as good--for whatever value of "good" your aesthetic standards require--a story you can using the prompts I've given you. If I knew what type of story I wanted, I would have written it myself. I might not like the story you end up writing, but that's my problem, isn't it? I'm tough. I can take it.
Concrit Policy: Please give feedback in as much or as little detail as you feel it requires. Pointing out typographical errors, spelling mistakes, and grammatical errors is especially appreciated--much of my fic is posted unbetaed. (Volunteering to act as a beta is also appreciated.) Negative criticism may hurt, but I'm tough. I can take it. It's more important to me that people approach my fics which a critical and thoughtful eye than that they walk away enjoying them (although of course I try for that too!).
Friend Policy: Feel free to friend this journal.

"Well, first of all, what a blast I've had with the release of Serenity! $267 million at the box office -- in Des Moines alone! Ten sequels lined up, March declared 'National Serenity Awesomeness Month', Nathan made President for Life of Canada AND Greece (his will be a bloody and righteous rule), and Summer's feet to be exhibited at the Tate, when she has time to stand around at the Tate. (She should bring a book.)" -- Joss Whedon
