Yeah, by itself this ficlet doesn't tell one much that "Never Leave Me" didn't, save for the fact that I'm keeping Lydia alive (which doesn't, technically, make this fic an AU). I have other fics and ficlets planned in this sequence exploring Lydia's involvement in Watcherly matters post-"Never Leave Me" including the existential question of why she survived (a la "Amends").
