1) OMG, so awesome. She's just so . . . yeah. With the accent (fake, even!). And the crazy. And the being British and crazy while singing. Angela Christian, you have my incredible respect.
2) Um, yeah. She's the eponymous character.
3) She does grip me emotionally, which is a problem because her arc doesn't get resolved. She's basically used as a plot device, which is sad and wrong because she's totally the most awesome character in the whole thing.
4) It's hard to judge because I'm not sure what I have to compare it against. As a work of art . . . there are things I love about it, but it's not ALW's best work and the lyrics are just inane. But . . . Anne Catherick!
5) Anne/Laura, definitely. Also but less so with Anne/Marian and Anne/Walter. I'm interested in the Anne/Glyde backstory, but not in a wish fulfillment OTP way, obviously.
6) Her ultimate fate? Seriously, that scene in the asylum crushes me every time. I think we're supposed to be relieved and happy that [SPOILER], but I'd so rather that not be the case.
7) She's insane.
8) Without a doubt my favorite character from tWiW.
