Good for you. As I said in your IJ, just because you don't find it unwelcoming does not mean that those of us who do are wrong. If, when I was first starting to get interested in fanfic and slash, I had heard people saying it's by women, for women, I would not have felt welcome to join in, therefore I am glad that my early exposure to fanfic was in anime fandom and on FFN, where there is a more balanced gender mix, and that I did not find myself here until much later.
