Before she broke out the "Women hold all the power in Britain" stuff (a claim I've encountered before, and I don't buy now anymore than I did then) (a position which was also held by the LJ user who blamed rape on feminism, and now I'm wondering if they're not indeed the same person) my interlocutor's positions weren't so incredibly different from positions I've heard from sane people undecided about these issues. So I think it has real value to demonstrate that, yes, we have answers to these objections, and we have thought about these issues. I'll never persuade my interlocutor, but she's not the only one who'll read this conversation. And when the result is the interlocutor ultimately showing the true colors of her crazy, well then she's done the work for us, no?
