That doesn't help, either. Maybe I was not clear. I really don't care now, because I'm here and well-entrenched, and I know there really are some who really do mean they don't want any non-women involved with them, and there are some who just mean they like that it's mostly women.

But I know that had I seen people saying "fanfic (slash) is by women, for women" when I was new and didn't know anyone, I would have thought, well, I am not a woman, nor am I writing specifically for women, so I guess I'm not wanted here. And if I don't know anyone, I can't know their intent; all I can know is what they say.
