See, nobody is saying that you are saying that there is complete racial harmony in the UK. What we are saying is that your generalisation of how 'people' in the US and UK see racism is flawed. Most BME people in the UK probably don't see the same harmony within the system that white Brits do, therefore you appear to be privileging white opinions over non-white, and by saying that 'Brits' in general don't agree with the model of racism seen by a lot of American POC (and many non-white Brits) you are setting what I've seen as an opinion predominantly held by white people as the default.

And that comment you made about people most directly affected not having the right to have the last say about their oppression/the fact that you were able to accept heyiya's explanation with roughly a million times the grace and comprehension than you did virtually identical explanations by Americans/BME non-Americans didn't help matters.

I've mostly given you the benefit of the doubt here and assumed that you really want to talk about racism, and not just so that you can get a pat on the head for being the enlightened white ally, and not just so you can get POC to go out of their way to enable your enlightenment. But I really don't have the time to keep this going, so unless your reply to me is really outrageous, I'm probably going to bow out of this discussion at this point.
