The sad thing is that Famke Jansen (Jean Gray) is a former Bond villainess, so it's not like she can't be evil. She's not bad at it. But she had no direction here. I think you could tell the actors were floundering a bit without Singer; McLellan, the most talented of them, floundered the least, and the youngest and newest actors (like Angel) were just flat and boring.
