Commentary to Gilmore Girls, VMArs

Gilmore Girls

I really liked it. Plot stuff was good, nice developments, dialogue was fun, Alexis is still hot. Two thumbs up.

Although what was up with those act breaks? I mean, I know, "fade out on scary monster" isn't so much an option in this genre, but still.

Veronica Mars

Honestly, only look under the cut if you're really bored. Short story is I enjoyed it. Under the cut is random impression recorded as I watched.

Will to power, yay!

I don't like the new credit sequence. Although I totally cheered at Tina's name.

Two BSG shoutouts?

OMG, Veronica and Mac have so much UST. Which, you know, really doesn't fit with the dialogue about how Mac's so turned off from sex.

I miss Madison. Well, sort of.

Yay, the sheriff's department!

Okay, Parker is dumb, but I can't bring myself to care enough to hate her. I miss Madison.

People's spoiler-cuts implied that Dick was awesome. I'm not seeing the awesome.

Okay, I wouldn't call that awesome, but it's nicely tragic. Good storytelling.

Nicely done.

Only, um, where was Lilly? There were no dead people at all in this. (Well, unless you count Kendall.)

OK, I thought Mac was killed by Beaver in the last ep of last year. I thought it was said. I mean, I like Mac and would miss her, but still, what?

Um, okay, no. After Beaver threw himself off the Neptune Grand, Veronica goes back to the hotel room he had gotten for himself and Mac and finds Mac crying because Beaver had stolen her clothes. She's definitely alive, and very much going to college with Veronica now.

When was this revealed? I missed a lot of this one.

"After Beaver threw himself off the Neptune Grand, Veronica goes back to the hotel room he had gotten for himself and Mac and finds Mac crying because Beaver had stolen her clothes" all happened during the season finale "Not Pictured" (2x22), shortly after the scene where Cassidy kills himself.

"She's definitely alive, and very much going to college with Veronica now" is revealed in Tuesday's episode "Welcome Wagon" (3x01).

OK, I saw (pieces of) 3x01 and saw that, which is why I was boggling.

I'll have to download 2x22, because I did not see that when I watched it, and I Tivo'd it.
