Holiday Fic Exchange Time!
Nov. 24th, 2008 10:13 amI've emailed one of the participants who had volunteered on the Yuletide Beta Page to beta in the fandom in which I wrote my fic, so hopefully s/he'll be able to help me. Anyone reading this who would be interested in looking it over would still be welcome, of course.
It's kind of exciting to have finished my Yuletide fic so long before Thanksgiving, although frustrating to not be able to upload it yet. Next up'll be my Catchallathon fic; I've already notebooked several pages of it and have a fair sense of what is to come, but still have a long way to go; it's not super-plotty or anything like that, but neither is it particularly brief. The characters have a lot to hash out, and the fact that it's a pairing I swore I would never write doesn't help any either. (Hopefully my recipient won't be too disappointed if I can't manage that deep OTP place, as seems likely.)
And after that, Pretty Lights, which is so full of win. There are two different requests I could write and I'm deliciously torn between them. Or I could both, of course.
I can write a serviceable but uninspiring version of my 3_Ships request but am waiting for the brilliant twist to occur to me. I waited until Christmas to write this one last year, but that was the Keith/Mac/Veronica for Ari and when I get assigned Ari fics always fail to follow the usual rules. Which may or may not be an ingenious attempt to disguise whether I've been assigned Ari for this or any of the other exchanges. Time (and/or glancing at the offers and requests and seeing which match, but I think that's only an option for the Catchallathon) alone will tell.
And some people, somewhere (Goddess only knows for Yuletide, probably within less degrees of separation for the others) are planning stories to write for me!
ETA: And my prospective beta has just returned my email and agreed!
