I wrote the stories the way I wanted them, given the time and effort and skill I had available to me at the time.

Now go and make one (or more) of them yours. Seriously, I've always said (with a caveat for yuletide, but that's neither here nor there) that it was more important that someone assigned me in a 'thon write something true to her vision then something I'd enjoy. I hold to that.
