Yes of course they do. But that doesn't mean that their analysis of how the world works and how the problems of the world can be solved is automatically correct. When I am experiencing homophobia I am in a good position to know how I feel about it, but I don't suddenly become an expert on how to solve the problem and all heterosexual people must automatically assume that everything I say on the subject is correct. And if I start to insist that all heterosexuals should do exactly as I say then, I believe, that is reinforcing the very distinctions and problems that I wish to get rid of.

When I say that I don't believe in the model I really mean I don't believe in the model - not just as regards racism where I happen to belong to the privileged majority but also as regards all the issues where I belong to the disadvantaged group.
