Well, the magic carpet was a dream (an echo of how they exited the River brain-stripping instillation in StM, though?) But I think we've all been there, convinced of something happening in a dream and then waking up to find not.
I think I've missed the whole discussion of what constitutes canon in the Ffly 'verse - TV shows as on DVDs and movie, yes? But what's the consensus on everything else?
