Well, my intent wasn't necessarily to make one go "oh, that's just like 'Touched'," but I did have the episode in mind when ?I wrote the chapter. Of course, now that fact is forever enshrined in the comments, to influence the way the story is interpreted. (While I love the dialogue between author and reader that LJ creates, I'm less sanguine about the way that can function to privelege authorial intent.)
