Five Things That Weren't Stakes That BuffyFaith Killed A Vampire With

1. Pencils. Okay, they're a classic, and Buffy's used them too, but Faith does work at a school, you know.

2. Holy water power washer. Did I mention she also works for a priest?

3. Field hockey stick. It's made of wood. Enough said.

4. Softball. She knocked the vamp's heart right out of its chest, then picked the thing up and held it over her cigarette lighter for a few seconds.

Five Careers Dawn Summers Could Have Instead of Becoming a Watcher, but Probably Never Will

1. Classicist. This is actually her cover as it is in the Watcher!verse. She's earned her doctorate, she works two days a week from the British Museum instead of her office at 99 Great Russell Street, and on Fridays she teaches a class to undergraduates at Cambridge University. She wonders what it would be like to be able to devote herself full-time to academia, though, rather than spending so much time planning wars and fighting monsters.

2. Surgeon. Once again my notion of a character is picked up from an influential fanfic, in this case liz_marcs' Living History, in which Dawn goes on to become a doctor.

3. Politician. Naturally drawn to power despite herself, she starts out as an activist in Cleveland and within fifteen years is the junior senator from Ohio. She'll be too young to try for President in 2018 (BtVS is crossed over with tWW in my mind), but she's already the hot ticket for 2022.

4. Investigative journalist. Knowing what's up and where to look, Dawn tries to shine the light of publicity on the world's underside. Think of her as a younger Sarah Jane Smith without the sonic lipstick.

5. Rock musician.

heeee! I could totally see Dawn as an investigative journalist, poking her nose into all kinds of shady situations. 'Rock musician' makes me want to read or write fic. And of course 'classicist' is almost too obvious, it's so perfect. *snuggles Dawn*
