Statement #1: we can't address any content which resides off of LiveJournal as, quite frankly, it's none of our business what occurs off our servers

Statement #2: posting a link to prohibited content that is posted elsewhere is going to receive the same punishment as it would if the prohibited content were posted on LiveJournal servers

I won't say I like the policy presented in statement #2 but am I the only one who doesn't see a contradiction with #1?

I am sure Livejournal users would be more than happy to follow LJ policy if we knew what the fuck that policy was! Apparently, they don't know, either.

Well, yes I have doubts that #2 is the official policy, and if it is I don't like it. But even if it were....

You're not the only one. I mean, I'm guessing that statement #1 means "we're not going to ToS anyone for having inappropriate content off-lj" (assuming that the person doesn't link to it on lj), but I can also honestly see why people would feel confused and misled by how it's worded.
