Yeah, I shouldn't have fed her, but I was sitting at the computer with nothing else to do - dangerous! That's an excellent point about oil-company jobs and so forth that I hadn't thought of, and now I'm also remembering something I read a few years ago about how much of a struggle it was for a woman to get and keep a road construction job that she needed because it paid better than clerical or retail.
