So you're saying American movies are becoming Hong Kong action movies? Those have barely enough denouement to allow a hero to gloat over the bodies of vanquished foes.
But I still think Neal Stephenson has an undeserved reputation for being crappy at the D-word. I *love* the end of Diamond Age and think it's exactly the right size. Legs just long enough to reach the ground.
