Give me a character or pairing or storyline or episode or something from one of my fandoms (TV, movies, music, literature, etc -- if you know who I am, you know what I know and you probably know what I like; if you don't, take a shot anyway, and I'll see what I can do), and I'll ramble about it for a bit. General thoughts and impressions, skewed to the bright side with any luck, because I WANT TO BE JOYFUL.Being joyful is good. Especially since half my flist--including me--is now dealing with the going home and losing of autonomy, hopefully this should help cheer us up. Honestly, I don't think I was home for three hours before they put me to work. And the water pressure sucks in the upstairs bathroom, too. And...

But Dawn is also very easy for me to identify with, just short of Mary Sue levels. (The gender thing is probably the only thing keeping me from completely Mary-Suing her; after all, I don't want to marry Giles. My desire for Dawn and my desire to be Dawn sort of balance each other out.) She's geeky and smart, and in season 7 is a capable and competent assistant to Giles or Willow.
And Dawn has a dark side, especially when I write her, which of course is part of the appeal. I don't really have a dark side, so I vicariously borrow hers. And we're back to the Mary-Suing.
(In general, I find it easier to identify with female characters.)
