Spam and Firefly

My stomach is not happy. It didn't like dinner, presumably.
So why more spam? (No, not for dinner.) Because I haven't written fic in over a week. A week! And will not write fic until I write my
femslash_minis fic. Which will be sometime later in the week. So, until I write more fic, there is nothing to do but spam your flists to remind you that I'm alive.
Where has my vacation gone? Here I am waiting to go back to school so I can get some relaxation. What is wrong about that plan?
Well, I was supposed to be cleaning my room today but didn't exactly. You guys were slow at entertaining me today, and I didn't feel like reading the insane backlog of fic and meta I have bookmarked, so I watched more Firefly. "Safe," "Our Mrs. Reynolds," and "Jaynestown."
And you know what? Simon & Kaylee and Mal & Inara spend an awful lot of time with each other, respectively. I wish the people I had UST with would have spent that much time with me. I mean, I know there's only nine people on the ship and all, but it seems like they search out each other's company. Which sort of makes sense with Simon/Kaylee, but why are Mal and Inara hanging out like they are best friends? I mean Mal and Inara are hanging out at the beginning of "Our Mrs. Reynolds," cracking jokes, and I'm not sure why.
"Our Mrs. Reynolds" is my favorite episode, tied with "The Message." It's just so great! Mal/Saffron! Some great Mal/Kaylee, includinthe "Don't you know kissing pretty girls makes you sleepy" kiss! And the Simon/River deleted scene, although that isn't canon.
"Jaynestown" is a great episode for Simon/Kaylee. I mean, she gets him drunk and he calls her pretty! (He's actually more romantic when he's drunk than in the rest of the series put together, isn't he?) And in the end with the "I'm stuffy because I like you" in--where were they? In Kaylee's bedroom?
"Jaynestown" reaffirmed my understanding of Simon/Kaylee, which is that he knows relatively early that they're courting but is afraid to upset the status quo. I do think he desires her, mainly because he'd be insane not to, but for some reason doesn't want to rock the boat. I'm not sure what his doubts are, but it seems perfectly believable and in character for him to swallow them in Serenity and I do think he's telling the truth there.
This post is totally pointless, isn't it?
