Miscellany and Riddles

First off, a link via
deliriumdriver: Vader of the Opera: The Darth Vader Musical.
I added my birth year to my LJ birthdate so that LJ could count me as a 20-plus person. Not that I'm as much plus as some of my flisters, but I'm operating under the assumption that every little bit helps. It's not like I've been keeping it a secret that I am twenty-two. (God/ess, I'm twenty-two? When did that happen? Heck, I'm twenty-two-and-a-half even; my half-birthday just passed earlier this month.)
The point of LJ for me is that it's a community of friends, in the case of my particular flist those who are almost entirely college educated or else in the process of becoming so (or both). It's the flist feature which makes my LJ superior to a conventional blog. Without the community we're all talking to ourselves, although I suppose if fandom migrates elsewhere most of us'll manage to find each other there.
It'll be like The Land Before Time. Except without the sequels, hopefully.
I posted fic today. Faith/Inara, Faith/Mal, very NC-17. I think its the first thing I've written in which Tara gets a sizeable role (although sadly not in the NC-17 part), which is a shame because I really do love her character. It's just that I'm in general satisfied with the arc we saw in canon, and I don't feel the need to write her all that often. Nor do I write all that much fic set in the time period that could reasonable feature her to begin with (with which to begin?). When I wrote my profile over at the Pit of Voles, Willow/Tara was listed as one of my favorite 'ships, but now I hardly ever even give the relationship a second thought. I just sort of take it for granted.
I'm too busy defending Willow/Kennedy, for one thing.
So right now I'm iconing a 75x100 Tara icon to use in my character index, since I now have more than one fic with Tara in it (she appears briefly in The Sleep of Reason). How does this look? Any suggestions for screencaps that'd make a better ("sexier" and "funnier" are particularly desirable values of "better") icon?

Tara's not the only person who's been missing from the index, of course. There are other characters whom I just don't write all that often. Cordelia only appears in one story--Divine Interventions--although she does play a pretty major rôle in that one. Anya has, I think, a single line in one of my fics. I've never written Oz, and even Xander's entry is rather sparse compared to Kennedy or Harmony or--god help us--Dawn.
Writing Faith/Inara and also working on another Firefly project I've been thinking about has made me like Inara more. It's really the Inara we see when Mal is around that I dislike so much; the two of them really bring out the worst in each other. Giving her a life separate from Mal's is showing me that she can actually be interesting and likable in her own right under the correct circumstances.
I'll leave y'all with a couple of riddles, as always from the ODNR:

I'll leave y'all with a couple of riddles, as always from the ODNR:
Little Nancy Etticoat,Solution: A candle.
With a white petticoat,
And a red nose;
She has no feet or hands,
The longer she stands,
The shorter she grows.
Old Mother Twitchet has but one eye,Solution: A needle.
And a long tail which she can let fly,
And every time she goes over a gap,
She leaves a bit of her tail in a trap.
