I'm sad Ari isn't watching, because Keith and Veronica were so full of UST tonight. I really expected them to just start making out at any moment. That would have been great, and very much made of win. Well, I don't think one could be made of more win than the UST they had, so we'll say it would be made of just as much win. But still, a lot of win.
The mysteries seemed well-written and competently structured and all that, so that's a plus. It's just that most of the moments when Keith and Veronica weren't USTing, the show lacked spark. We need more interesting characters; preferably Mac, but Weevil or Wallace or even Lamb would have worked too, I think. The Veronica and Logan Show is just too boring to be consistently interesting, and whatever Dick is on this show, it isn't comic relief.
On that note, is Mac ever in her dorm room? Veronica is going to stop stopping by at this rate. Although I suppose that still puts Mac one step above Wallace.
We got references to both Trina and the Mannings, not to mention remembering Aaron and Cassidy, which made me happy. My show is a continuity whore, and that is why I love it. (ETA: Apparently, the reference to the Mannings wasn't to the Mannings about which I was thinking. Grr.) I'm torn between really wanting to see old friends show up (Madison! Gia!) and old plot threads be resolved and the sheer implausibility of it now that the Neptune High Class of 2006 has scattered to their respective places of employment or higher education. (But many of the 02ers would still be in Neptune and Lizzy and Grace and baby!Sinclair and baby!Mackenzie are all still in Neptune and. . . .)
Lastly, I'm not sure what the episode was really about. I mean the A plot made perfect sense and I liked it. The B plot made perfect sense and I liked it. The C plot made perfect sense and I liked it. They were all well-constructed, well-executed plots. I'm just not sure what they were all doing in the same episode together. Maybe when I wake up tomorrow the thematic parallels will have become obvious, but I'm not seeing them today.
What was the title? Maybe that'll be a useful clue.
