The DVD Commentary Meme:

If you've ever watched your favorite dvds, and then found yourself eager to hear exactly what the actors, directors, writers and even production designers thought about making the episode, the movie, or whatever - you'll know sometimes the best parts of dvds are hearing the commentaries. Getting into an actor's feelings about the character they play, getting the background behind a writer's plans and metaphors, even just getting the stupid anecdotal stuff that makes you laugh, it's all good.

Ask me about any story, and I'll do a DVD commentary for it! Satisfy your curiosity!

I'm game! I don't remember the title of the fic, as I read it last year when I first friended you, but it was this kinda list full of facts about Faith & Kennedy teaching in Catholic School and about said Catholic School. I would to hear what you've got to say bout that.

"Twenty Facts About St. Clare's Academy Not Found in the Brochure," I think it was called, or some such. It actually reminds me a lot of my most recent fic, "Running," in that both fics are about character pairs that I'm perfectly capable of writing but which for those respective stories I just could not come up with a plot--and so I, by my standards "cheated." But it ended up being quite popular, just like "Running" seems to be. I don't know what that says, really.

Detailed DVD commentary to come!

Yay! And there's nothing wrong about cheating, as long as you're not deluding yourself. It was a real fun fic, in a way, and most definitely enjoyable. I loved that it was so open to interpretation.

Not to completely threadjack you, but if anyone would remember this it would probably be you: Is it Summer Glau I'm thinking of, who was interviewed at one point and asked if she'd ever read fanfic about her character, and answered in the affirmative, and possibly even said it was a positive experience?

I haven't heard of that, but that doesn't mean anything. I don't read many (any) interviews, even Summer ones, because they so rarely tell one anything that a dedicated fan doesn't already know. . . .

The ones that are filmed and put on YouTube being a different story. . . .
