What's your earliest memory?

I don't know what's my earilest memory, exactly. I have memories of Buffy and Celia playing together and wanting to play with them and Buffy saying I couldn't and either Mom or Dad having to make her (Buffy--Celia never minded playing with me) let me play with them. Celia died when I was 3, so they have to be a pretty early as memories go.

What's your favorite TV show?

Firefly. It's this show about a bunch of smugglers in the future, who live on a spaceship, and they pick up this passenger who is insane but a super-genius psychic. It's cool--it helps me forget how much real life sucks.

Who do you love the most?

2005 Dawn: Buffy, I guess--but if you tell her I said that you are so dead. But with Mom dead and everything, who else do I have left? Especially with all her friends split up across the world now. Her new boyfriend is pretty hot, though.

2017 Dawn: Madelyn, of course. She's Buffy's daughter, which means I have to protect. What I can do to protect an eight-year-old girl who just happens to be the most powerful witch on the planet, I don't know, but I have to try,

What's it really like to work for Joss?

It's great, it really is. He's opened doors for me I never even imagined existed. You know, he loves all of his characters and his actors just so much, it's amazing. The only thing is, whem Joss loves you, he makes you suffer. It's just how he is. Joss loves River very, very much. Sometimes I'm glad he doesn't love me quite that much.

*nervous laughter* They're just feet. I mean, I'm a dancer, so I love my feet very much. Feet are important. But I don't know, they're not particularly interesting or exciting feet, I don't know what the big deal was. *laughs again* Watch the series.

DWhich rôle you've played contains the most of you?

River, I guess, because there's just so much of her compared to everyone else. I don't know if I'd say I was like River--or Tess or Crystal or whoever--but when you play a character for that long things shine through, even if you don't want them to. I'm not method--obviously--but sometimes you can't help but use things. I don't move like River, for example, but River moves like me, like a dancer. And, you know, River's so young--I didn't know she was supposed to be seventeen until the movie, but it makes sense, if you think about it. And I'm not that young, I'm 24--I'm older than Jewel, but she's been acting since she was like 3 years olf amd sometimes I feel like River, you know. Thrown into a whole new world?

I was kind of hoping I would be.

1) No yoys--tools. Tested by committee to ensure stimulation of intellectual abilities in children six months, twelve months, two years--a life mapped out by marketeers with marionette strings. Simon got a source box in exchange for promising to be a brilliant doctor--what did I have to promise?

But Simon and I, we didn't need toys. The evil Browncoats with their pteranadons and velociraptors were there whether we had toys or not. And most of the time, it was enough.

2)Tinker, tailor, soldier, spy. giving situation reports to Simon. But then they took me away and tried to make me into a soldier for real, and it turns out I'm not very good at taking orders.

3) So many minds, so many thoughs, so much pain, so many pains. But the girl in the engine room is, on the whole, unbothered, and I can find peace in chase.
