James Marsters:
I got to grope Sarah and they paid me for it man. But the truth, the really truth is that Sarah drove me kind of crazy sometimes so I came to think of her as my kid sister, who drives me crazy but I love her. So it got increasingly strange kissing her because she's like my kid sister. Got to like season six season seven and I was licking her and she was stretched out and I'm like licking on her arm and I couldn't do the shot, I just kept cracking up. I'm licking my sister. Maybe I shouldn't have put her in the sister category. That was. And she was really offended by that. Her whole thing was you don't tell what it's like to kiss each other, she told me 'you've gotta say say this and this and this' and I didn't tell, I didn't say what she wanted me to say, I'd say actually it was kind of weird, it was like kissing my sister and she was like [offended].Suddenly I'm feeling strangely pro-Spuffy.

While I was rooting for Spike all throughout his romantic fixation, and I was happy when it actually happened, it's not something I've ever found erotic, just because it was - even at its best and least emotionally unhealthy moments - sort of sad and pathetic. I've noticed within the fandom that there is a trend in this direction; a lot of fans enjoyed it, and wanted it in the TV series, but there's scarce erotica based upon it on the web.
