Why do people seem to refuse to consider the possibility that aesthetics may be just a bit more solid than personal taste? Hopefully, they don't approach ethics the way they do aesthetics. I'm a post-structuralist, maybe even a post-modernist, but the way relativism so often acts as the default assumption in fandom scares me.
