The children are children, and a lot of the adult women turn out to be aliens. There's Maria's mother, whose faults are legion, and Sarah Jane, who is awesome but not someone I'd crush over. (I don't have the older woman kink.)

It's probably a result of a lot of the sexist stereotypes RTD has overlaid on her, but I'm not sure how well Sarah would be able to open up emotionally to an adult who isn't the Doctor. Also, she keeps a mad husband in the attic. Actually, the more I think about it, the more she seems to be Rochester only genderswapped--she's not as good at alienating people, but she does actually try.

I don't know enough about Summer from interviews to know what she'd be like as a girlfriend--I'm sure she has faults like anyone else, but I don't know what they are--but the way I write her she comes off rather dependent (with moments of strength, like in "). Her relationships tend to be unhealthy and don't have clear boundaries.

Kitty can be a bit of a know-it-all and kind of clueless about social situations.

. . . actually, that would sort of make her the perfect girlfriend for me. But I'm not sure what she's looking for in a guy, and I'm not sure she is, either.

It's kind of unfair to Rogue to count X3 as canon, but it made it fairly clear that she's too quick to blame herself when she shouldn't. I don't know why she did what she did in X3, but I'm fairly sure her relationship with Bobby won't withstand it, and I really don't want to be her rebound. I have a feeling that what she's looking for in a relationship is something she's never going to find there.
