I really want to have a working draft of my Baptism of Jesus sermon before I go back to work, but I was on the phone with Ari during her layover right when Yuletide Reveals came out and I was like, "Oh, Alixtii wrote the Dar Williams' 'Alleluia' fic." (Which is the one Yuletide fic I've read this year -- I mostly haven't been in a fanfic-reading headspace, plus I've been busy, but the recipient is a friend of mine and I happened to have the time and interest when I saw her post about it on Christmas.) And then this one popped up on my flist and I said, "This one more obviously has Alixtii's fingerprints all over it." I've even actually read if on a winter's night..., which I wasn't all that in love with but which background knowledge I'm sure will enhance my experience of this fic.

P.S. This has always perplexed me: Why don't you include in your LJ-ficpost headers "written for [person x] in [ficathon y], originally posted [link here]"?

Re: your postrscript: I think my initial rationalization was something about wanting it to be able to stand on its own outside of a particular context, which is probably not something I would say about fanfiction today. But mostly it's been an excuse to be lazy. Since the AO3 has convenient slots for that sort of information, I will do my best to keep track of that information over there.
