Actually, the latest greatest youtube thing eva would be this.

I still hate that 99% of the videos on youtube/google have the sound out of sync.

Eh. Your link is somewhat awesome, but not nearly awesome enough.

What is truly awesome is that "C is for Cookie" randomly came on my playlist while I was waiting for your link to load. I have to say I find the original version to be by far the more aesthetically pleasing, having, y'know, a melody. But then I'm old fashioned like that.

Serendipity rocks.

Busted. You can take the kid out of the metal...

Oh god, a girliness meme. And me with unfinished work.

To me, it isn't, at least.

I muchly resent the idea (from the survey creator, not you) that never having had a real job is somehow a "girlie" thing. The cell phone one just amuses me because my brother's cell phone has been bonded to him ever since he got it -- years before I got mine. Oh, and shopping is not an especially enjoyable thing for me and as with so many things I prefer to do it myself than with company, plus malls have all that background noise, so malls totally are not on my list of places to hang out in at all.

Well, the whole appeal of this meme for my flist, I think, is an ironic appreciation of just how blatantly sexist it is. Both in its premise and the particular way it goes on to construct the genders.

I don't really understand what they mean by a "real" job. I've only had summer jobs and part-time things--but I've worked alongside people who were using those same crap jobs to support their entire families, so as far as I am concerned those jobs were as real as any other. The concept of a "real job" as this meme seems to be constructing it has a middle-class snobbishness inherent in it that, yeah, I find pretty damnned offensive, which sort of crosses the gender issue you point out. After all, being a homemaker is a real job, too.

I always assume my friends are doing these things just as mindless fun not out of any higher ironic appreciation, but whatever.

I wasn't even thinking of the fact that homemaker can be a real job (which is in itself a very good point) but that it's super-offensive to say that having a "real job" is a masculine thing.
