Birthdays and a Riddle

Possibly as a result of the previous day's tempest, or possibly the resulting flood, I had no internet access yesterday. I'm sure it was just a momentary twick of the system, but then it sets itself that way and I need to get my dad to set it back because I don't really understand it.

So I didn't forget deliriumdriver's birthday. Belated birthday wishes, Erin. This is in contrast to seelechen, sinaddict and makesmewannadie, whose birthday wishes are belated for all the usual reasons. Happy birthday, all.

I feel like this post should have some sort of content, but I'm not really capable of producing any. So a riddle!

I refrained from complaining to my parents about it first thing mainly to prove to my parents that I could. It wasn't easy (I knew I'd have all kinds of comment notifications sitting in my inbox, including one from you) but I grit my teeth and read a book.
