Dude, I missed an authorial intent discussion. They're my favorite.
College is starting off to a good start. Am very excited about my classes in Modernist Poetry and Critical Literary Theory. Also my philosophy honors seminar and a class examining religion and politics in the New York Times. And my French professor talked slow enough for me to understand him, which is a great relief.
Am feeling accomplished with myself, for I posted the first chapter of multi-chapter fic Divine Interventions last night. It's a dark fic in which Dawn, Ethan, Amy and other characters I love all find themselves in over their heads as a war between Slayers and the worshippers of Osiris erupts in Brazil. 1. Have you ever read a Six/Eleven fic? Do you want to? Rogue/Doggett? That’d be interesting, with the skeptical FBI agent helping a young mutant deal with her powers. He’d be strong and paternal, and it’d slowly develop into something more.
2. Do you think Four is hot? How hot? Eh. Eve’s sexually attractive, I guess, but isn’t much use except as a sex object. People who look like that tend to bring out the worst “masculine” urges in me—for someone with whom to empathize, I’d rather have someone with a few curves. Faith anyone?
3. What would happen if Twelve got Eight pregnant? There’d be even more people whom Rogue loved and could never touch. She couldn’t hold Kaylee’s hand at the birthing without gloves, and could never even touch her own child. And Kalee would feel her pain and feel guilty about all the personal satisfaction she herself received from motherhood.

any fic(s) about Nine? Are you
kidding? Let’s see, there’s anything by liz_marcs or m_mcgregor, plus the “On the Road” series by karabair, and . . . so much more. My flist has Faith love, yo. I liked that Faith/Buffy fic about Falkner and Henry James by Karabair, too.
5. Would Two and Six make a good couple? Donna/Doggett is so believable that it could be canon. They’d be thinking about Josh and Reyes the entire time, of course.
6. Five/Nine or Five/Ten? Why? Faith would kill the Doctor so fast it wouldn’t be funny. Doc/Drusilla, on the other hand, has a lot of good potential for angst. They’re two not-people, who don’t think the way others think, trapped in a word which doesn’t understand them.
7. What would happen if Seven walked in on Two and Twelve having sex? River would watch and not understand when Donna and Bev got upset. If they got upset.
8. Make up a summary for a Three/Ten fic. After the destruction of Earth-that-Was, only a few Terran vampires remain. One, insane and still mourning the loss of all she loved, finds her way to Serenity.
9. Is there any such thing as One/Eight fluff? I’ve seen Kaylee fics which weren’t fluff, and God knows the Dawn fics I write couldn’t pass as fluff if they put on trench coats and sunglasses, but still Dawn/Kaylee is the definition of fluff.
10. Suggest a title for a Seven/Twelve hurt/comfort fic. Where Bev tries to heal River using Trek technology? Physician Heal Thyself”? No, too trite. Some kind of play on “Eternal Sunset of the Spotless Mind” perhaps? No, too awkward. How about “Hypospray, Hierophant”?
11. What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted Four to deflower One? Well, I've written Dawn/Eve fic (well, a drabble) with Eve as the agressor. I called it “The Game.” It's part of a drabble sequence in which Eve serially seduces the Scoobies. (Ooh, alliteration!)
12. Does anyone on your friends list read Seven
slash? I know thatwisdomeagle certainly would, and I have no doubt she isn't the only one.
13. Does anyone on your friends list read Three
het? You know, I don’t think I’ve
ever read (or even seen) Mal het except when I was specifically looking for
Mal/Kaylee stories for my ship_manifesto essay. And my Mal/Saffron ficlet. Maybe an occasional Mal/River. That’s odd, you know?
14. Does anyone on your friends list write or draw Eleven? thenyxie has written
Rogue stories set in the comicsverse, and I think there may have been some
flisters who wrote movieverse Rogue before I joined LJ.
15. Would anyone on your friends list write
Two/Four/Five? I haven’t seen any Star Trek fic--outside of scoobiesinspace on my flist, so probably
not.
16. What might Ten scream at a moment of great
passion? Probably something about fruit.
17. If you wrote a song-fic about Eight, which
song would you choose? “Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful,” by Rodgers
and Hammerstein, for Kaywinnit Lee Frye.
18. If
you wrote a One/Six/Twelve fic, what would the warnings be? I guess I’d warn
for the threesome itself, along with the femslash and het components therein. I don't know that Dawn, Doggett, and Crusher would particularly come up with anything all that innovative to require a special warning.
19. What might be a good pick-up line for Two to
use on Ten? I don’t think pick-up lines would be the best method of seducing
Dru. Donna should just say something incomprehensible and let Drusilla take it
from there.
20. When
was the last time you read a fic about Five? Oh, it had to be years ago. I
think it was “Approval Process.”
21. What is Six's super-sekrit kink? Polishing his guns. And now the possibility of Doggett/Jayne Cobb slash is occurring to me.
22. Would Eleven shag Nine? Drunk or sober? If
it wasn’t for that pesky not-being-able-to-touch thing, Rogue would totally
shag Faith. Drunk or sober.
23. If Three and Seven get together, who tops? If
River were sane, I think Mal would top. As it is, though, River definitely goes
on top.
24. "One and Nine are in a happy relationship
until Nine suddenly runs off with Four. One, broken-hearted, has a hot
one-night stand with Eleven and a brief unhappy affair with Twelve, then
follows the wise advice of Five and finds true love with Three." What
title would you give this fic? Name three people on your friends list who might
read it. Name one person who should write it. Dawn and Faith are in a happy relationship until Faith runs off with
Eve. Dawn, broken-hearted, has a hot one-night stand with Rogue and a brief
unhappy affair with Beverly Crusher, then follows the wise advice of the EMH
and finds true love with Malcolm Reynolds. I certainly couldn’t write it—I can
cross Buffy/Trek, Buffy/X-Men, and Buffy/Firefly, but reconciling Trek and
Firefly just isn’t possible. But there really aren’t a lot of Dawn writers
other than me on my flist either, so I give up. I think a big chunk of my flist
would read it if it was written by a flister (who could be trusted to make it
good), but avoid it otherwise. It doesn’t exactly sound promising, does it?
